Originally branded as Ullfrotté, these products still maintain the same fabric design and quality.  The material is produced in varying thicknesses for different functions and benefits.  The thickness of the material is measured in grams per square meter and comes in 200, 400, 600 and 800 grams per square meter.

AUTUMN´S COLLECTION

With the summer holidays just around the corner, we’re delighted to bring you a sneak preview of Woolpower’s upcoming Kids collection. It will be available from the week commencing 18th August, just in time for the new school term. In addition to the bright new colours, we’re now expanding the Kids collection with a mid-layer Full Zip Jacket 400, and the zipped polo top Zip Turtleneck 200. Our Balaclava and Mock Turtleneck will also be available in two new sizes, 2-5 years and 6-10 years. And there’s more. We’re adding another, smaller size to all the clothes in the entire range – size 86-92.

We wish you all a wonderful summer!

SPRING 2014 NEWS

Our popular soles made from recycled merino wool are now available for you to buy. These innovative soles mean that Woolpower can now make use of all our leftover woollen fabric in the best possible way – bringing you a product that keeps your feet warm and comfortable, whether you are active outdoors or sitting inside in an office. The colour of the soles can vary, depending on the leftover wool, but we call it “recycled grey”.

But it’s not only the new soles we’re launching this spring. The long-awaited follow up to our fingerless gloves is finally here – better looking, better shaped. Woolpower’s Wrist-Gaiters come in petrol, cerise and grey colours, with our knitted-in logo on the top.

Last but not least, we’re also proud to present our very own liquid detergent, Woolcare. It’s a product that fits right in with our efforts for sustainable production. The detergent breaks down biologically, and is climate-neutrally manufactured in Sweden in collaboration with Kempartner AB. Woolcare is both clothing- and environmentally-friendly, and contains lanolin, wool’s own natural oil, which protects the fine qualities of wool.  Remember, you don’t need to wash our base layer garments so often. You can simply air them after using them. But, when you do want to wash them, you can do so in 60° C (140° F), and your garments last even longer with Woolcare.

JÄMTLAND OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE

Jämtland Outdoor Experience – or JOE – is the name of our collaboration with four other Jämtland-based outdoor equipment companies: Klättermusen, Lundhags, Hillebergs and Trangia. The purpose of JOE is to educate overseas retailers about our products, their functionality and their technical qualities. The best way to do this, of course, is to go out on adventure together in the Jämtland mountains.

One of the participants is Oliver Weiss from Germany. He runs his own outdoor gear shop in the small town of Mittenwald in southern Germany. The shop specialises in Scandinavian products and Oliver says that he just loves Woolpower! He’s been selling Woolpower’s clothes and accessories since 2006. As he’s also a mountain guide in the German army, he expects high standards of both the quality and functionality of our products.

When he’s out in cold temperatures, he usually wears Woolpower’s 200 gr Ullfrotté (terry knit) base layer during the day, which he switches to the 400 gr version at night. During the JOE tour, he thought that Woolpower LITE was best for wearing during the day, and the 200 gr Ullfrotté at night.  He’s always just as fascinated that the clothes don’t end up smelling, even after several days’ wearing in pretty tough conditions. “All you have to do is air them in the evenings,” he says.

Oliver’s tip for his favourite mid layer garment? The 400 gr Ullfrotté vest.

“This is my first time in Sweden and I love it. I’ve spent a couple of fantastic days with wonderful people, using top-quality outdoor gear and surrounded by magnificent nature. I’m definitely coming back,” says Oliver Weiss from Germany.
