Odor – Less
Wool’s ability to absorb and neutralize bad odor is far superior to that of other textiles. Due to its chemical structure, wool can neutralize substances from the body that create bad odor. This is a distinct advantage when the accessibility of a washing machine is limited.
Humid conditions promote bacteria growth at temperatures between 68°F and 104°F (20°C and 40°C) and certain soil bacteria will not be eliminated unless the clothes are washed at 140°F (60 °C). Maintaining this heat tolerance is a requirement of the Swedish and Norwegian armies and most major industrial clients.
Ullfrotté garments can be machine washed at 140°F (60°C) and tumble-dried on low heat.
LITE garments can be machine washed at 140°F (60°C), but should be reshaped when damp, then air dried.
- WOOLCARE with lanolin is the recommended detergent for washing Woolpower.
- Turning your garment inside out before washing will help increase the lifespan of Woolpower.
- Garments can be tumble-dried on a warm setting, but excessive dryer heat will damage and shrink the fibers.
